We’re Janet and Diana and we reviewed the Nectar Mattress…
One of the things that caught our attention and made us want to do a Nectar mattress review is the incredible 365 risk free trial and the forever warranty! We’ve never seen any other mattress brand make that kind of promise! Combined with the quality and low price for a Nectar mattress we wondered, is it too good to be true?

Unboxing the Nectar Mattress
Nectar beds come shipped via FedEx and are shipped right to your door. It comes in a giant roll covered by a blue cloth that is like vinyl but it is waterproof on the inside. The outer cover keeps the mattress safe from water or dirt. Remove the outer layer and you’ll see the cover. It has handles on it to make it easier to transport. As with most online mattress brands, it comes vacuum packed. After you unroll the mattress it slowly expands to its full shape.
Nectar only sells the top mattress. You need to add box springs or a bed platform to set it on.
Nectar Mattress Review
Nectar has a modern clean look, which we love. The top is white and the sides are gray. There is no flowers or other pattern that would show through sheets.
Nectar mattress is a memory foam mattress. Most people either love or hate memory mattress. Some sleepers are like toss and turn and change positions all night. Memory foam will make it more difficult to move around as freely. On the other hand, you usually toss and turn because you’re trying to get comfortable.
If you generally stay in one position you will love this mattress. You can settle into the mattress and feel hugged. That’s exactly what this mattress does. It also relieves pressure like your hips and shoulders. It’s a very comfortable mattress!
A few things you need to know about memory foam mattresses:
- It hugs the body and contours to it
- Slower response time so if you move around it can take more time to bounce back
- It tends to sleep warmer because your body heat conforms to your body imprint. To counterbalance that they made a cooling gel layer.
The mattress cover is made out of a high performance fabric called tencel which is a very environmentally friendly material (much more so than bamboo event), made from eucalyptus trees. It is made to stay dry by wicking away moisture. It creates a smooth surface with high breathability. If your mattress cover gets damaged, Nectar will replace it free one time. Again, they pay shipping. We haven’t seen that from any other mattress brand.
A mattress cover is not easily removed and is not machine washable. It’s also not waterproof so as we always say protect your mattress. Make sure before you use it you put on a mattress protector! You never know what gets into your mattress but sweat, dust, pee, throw up, food particles and mites are just a few things that might sink in when you lie down. We are mattress protector advocates and really like Malouf mattress protectors which are sold in retail stores but that you can find on Amazon here.
The height of the Nectar is 11” tall. Today the trend is for taller mattresses and that makes this mattress a little taller than other similar mattresses (that are normally 10″) but not as tall as traditional mattresses.
You need a mattress that supports your body weight and won’t hit bottom. Really cheap mattresses bottom out easily. It needs to support your weight and body composition. After that it’s your preference. The Nectar Mattress is 6/10 on the firmness scale. So medium firm.

3 Unique Features of the Nectar Mattress
There are a few things that make Nectar unique among online mattresses.
#1 LONGEST RISK FREE TRIAL EVER
The 365 night risk free trial means you can sleep on the Nectar for a full year and if you’re not a fan you can return this mattress for a full refund. They’ll even pay the shipping to return it (you don’t have to get it back in the roll, either, they’ll take care of that).
#2 FOREVER WARRANTY.
Nectar mattress warranty which is the best we’ve seen. Most are 10 or 20 years at most. However, Nectar’s warranty is forever. On their website they say it’s covered even if it’s been 100 years!
#3 WHITE GLOVE SERVICE
The most stressful part of getting a new mattress is getting rid of the old one. Most thrift stores won’t accept them so that means taking them to the dump. You’ll probably need a truck to fit it in. There are some recycling places that will recycle your mattress and some offer pick up. But if you want to make it super easy, consider Nectar’s white glove service. For an additional fee Nectar will set up your new mattress and haul away your old mattress.
This is the only such service we’ve seen from an online mattress company.
Nectar Mattress Sizes and Prices
Nectar beds come in 6 sizes: twin, twin XL, full, queen, king and California king. The dimensions of each size mattress are below:
Overall we’d recommend this mattress if…
- You’re thinking about buying a Tempur Pedic or similar name brand mattress. Remember, the markups on mattresses is very high so you don’t want to overpay.
- You like the feel of memory foam but want a little more firmness than the typical memory foam mattress.
- You’re excited about the risk free trial that lets you sleep on the mattress at home for a year and the forever warranty.
Nectar Mattress Complaints
Unfortunately, Nectar beds have been so popular that the company has had a tough time keeping up with demand! Some get their beds fast and others find themselves waiting. Hopefully the company can work out the issue with inventory because it is a great bed that many people love and say they sleep so well on. Nectar is still new and we’re confident they’ll work through this.

Diana (along with 80% of the population) really loved sleeping on the Nectar. In fact, memory foam gets the highest customer satisfaction of any mattress type and also tends to be the highest priced. Janet prefers latex (which is almost as popular as memory foam) or foam.
